Lance Cpl. Spencer Dean, an a-gunner with Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force South, and a native of St. Louis, prepares for movement to Peru for a theater security cooperation event aboard the future amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), Aug. 30, 2014. During the TSC event, Marines and Sailors with SPMAGTF-South will participate in medical, counter improvised explosive device and combat marksmanship bi-lateral exchanges with Peruvian military personnel. SPMAGTF-South is currently embarked aboard America in support of her maiden transit, "America Visits the Americas." Through partner-nation activities, key leader engagements and security cooperation activities, the Marines and Sailors of SPMAGTF South will demonstrate the flexibility, utility and unparalleled expeditionary capability the Navy-Marine Corps team provides our nation and partners.
