A Sailor aboard the guided-missile cruiser USS Lake Erie (CG 70) lowers the “Don’t Tread on Me flag” as the ship departs Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam for a scheduled homeport change to San Diego. Lake Erie will be replacing guided-missile destroyer USS John Paul Jones (DDG 53) as a rotational Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) destroyer out of San Diego.
