Pfc. Madison M. Leitner, honor graduate of platoon 1056, awaits graduation at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C., Aug. 29, 2014. Leitner, a Lexington, S.C. native, was recruited by Staff Sgt. Bryan T. Davis, a recruiter from Marine Corps Recruiting Sub Station Lexington, Recruiting Station Columbia. Recruit training signifies the transformation of a civilian to a United States Marine. Upon graduation, the newly-minted Marines will receive ten days of leave before attending the School of Infantry East, Camp Geiger, N.C.
