The wardroom mess staff is introduced to distinguished Chilean visitors during a leadership conference held aboard the future amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), Aug. 23, 2014. The mess staff provided American and Chilean diplomats and military leaders with a formal lunch prior to the conference. The leadership conference was part of a key leader engagement held aboard the ship focusing on the importance of partnership and cooperation between our two nations. SPMAGTF-South is embarked aboard America in support of her maiden transit, “America Visits the Americas.” The transit aims to demonstrate the capabilities the Navy-Marine Corps team brings to our nation and partners.
