A U.S. Marine patrols the bazaar of Delaram, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Jan. 24. Afghan national policemen patrolled Delaram with the Marines of 1st Platoon, Company K, 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment (Reinforced), the ground combat element of Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force - Afghanistan, in search of illegal activity and contraband. By planning and executing combined operations with the Afghan national police, SPMAGTF-A and International Security Assistance Force strengthen the ability of the government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to protect its people.
