Staff Sgt. Daren Clarke, an administrative chief with Marine Operational Test and Evaluation Squadron 22 (VMX 22), aboard the future amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), will get a chance to reconnect with his past when distinguished guests from Trinidad and Tobago board America for a tour, July 25, 2014. Clarke joined the Marine Corps after he graduated from Thomas Edison High School in Queens, N.Y., following in the footsteps of his two older brothers who are also Marines. The ship is currently transiting around South America on her maiden transit, “America Visits the Americas,” and is scheduled to be commission Oct. 11 in San Francisco.
