U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Charles Brown, an instructor with 1st Battalion, 395th Engineer Regiment, teaches a search and security class to infantrymen with the Oregon National Guard's 2nd Bn., 162nd Infantry Regt., at the Mobilization Support Site on North Fort Hood, July 17, 2014. The regiment traveled to North Fort Hood from Oregon to train for an upcoming deployment to Afghanistan. North Fort Hood is a strategic platform for deployment and redeployment support of the Army Reserve and the National Guard. Although considered a remote site because of its geographical location, which is a good 45 minute drive from Fort Hood's main gate, the site is well within the confine of the installation, and receives all of its support from the installation proper. Reserve and Guard units from all over the U.S. travel there to train year-round. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Ken Scar, 7th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment)
