Gary Bush provides cover for his squad after taking simulated fire from German soldiers during World War II Weekend in Reading, Pa. Hundreds of re-enactors mounted on war-period vehicles drove through downtown Reading where they met with German resistance. Allied forces dismounted their vehicles to repel the German “occupation.” The weekend transported visitors back in time as they were surrounded by thousands of re-enactors in period-style uniforms representing various nations. The weekend also featured period entertainment, weapons demonstrations, mock battles and an air show. (Photo by Cpl. David Bessey)
