A German SS re-enactor acts as a casualty during a mock fire fight during World War II Weekend in Reading, Pa. Hundreds of re-enactors mounted on war-period vehicles drove through downtown Reading where they met with German resistance. Allied forces dismounted to attack while performing fire and maneuver tactics used during the war to “liberate” the city. The weekend transported visitors back in time as they were surrounded by thousands of re-enactors in period-style uniforms representing various nations. The weekend also featured period entertainment, weapons demonstrations, mock battles and an air show. (Photo by Cpl. David Bessey)
