U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers Sgts. Christopher Manley, a general equipment operator and Portland, Ore., resident, and Carlos Lopez, a reconnaissance sergeant, from Vancouver, Wash., both with the 671st Engineer Company out of Portland, Ore., compete in an obstacle course competition while carrying a simulated casualty on a litter as part of Operation River Assault at Fort Chaffee, Ark., July16. The unit competed amongst each other for the best time in the scenario simulating transporting a casualty to a landing zone through obstacles with a log acting as a mock casualty.
