Capt. Clinton W. Winland, A Company, 1st Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, marches on foot with nearly 65 pounds loaded on his back during a four-day field training exercise from May 12-15. Soldiers from 1st BSTB, to include Capt. Winland, ruck-marched over 42 miles during the arduous FTX while also conducting other various events. The purpose of this FTX was to challenge and improve the Soldier's mental toughness as well as preparing for unconventional missions in austere and unimproved locations.
