U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class John Lace, an assistant dedicated crew chief with the 13th Aircraft Maintenance Unit at Misawa Air Base, Japan, does a preflight check on an F-16 Fighting Falcon during Exercise Eager Lion May 27, 2014, at an air base in northern Jordan. Throughout the two-week exercise, 13th AMU maintainers are responsible for generating near-daily sorties that played a role in simulated scenarios. This year, more than 12,500 personnel from more than 20 nations are participating in the exercise, which is designed to strengthen military-to-military relationships and interoperability.
