Soldiers of 4th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division receive their spurs at Fort Hood, Texas, on Dec. 12. The Soldiers earn their spurs after completing a "Spur Ride", an old Cavalry tradition which consists of activities designed to test the Soldiers endurance and military knowledge.
