First Lt. Harrison Maxwell of Needham, Mass., watches the roof as his platoon clears a building during a firefight in a town at Hohenfels Training Area, Germany, on May 26, 2014. Maxwell and B Company, 2-5 CAV, 1 BCT, 1st Cavalry Division, secured the town during Combined Resolve II, a U.S. Army Europe-led multinational exercise involving more than 4,000 participants from the U.S. and 14 European countries.
