Shortly after a simulated mortar round went off, Spc. Lawrence Echon, a dental technician with C Company, 115th Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, charged through purple smoke to come to the aid of "wounded" Soldiers. Echon, a native of Yigo, Guam, continued on through the noise and confusion of the battlefield to help his "injured" comrades. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt.
