President George W. Bush stands with Arnold Fisher after presenting him with the 2008 Presidential Citizens Medal, Dec. 10, in the Oval Office of the White House. Bush lauded Fisher for his service to our country's veterans and their families and for demonstrating the generous and grateful heart of America. Fisher is chairman, president and chief executive officer of Fisher House Foundation, Inc., which donates "comfort homes," built on the grounds of major military and Veterans Affairs medical centers. These homes enable family members to be close to a loved one during the hospitalization for an illness, disease or injury.
