Retired Col. Edward L. Hubbard speaks about maintaining a positive attitude during a Wingman Day address to the Airmen of the 127th Wing at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Mich., April 16, 2014. Hubbard spent more than six years as a prisoner of war during the Vietnam War. During the presentation, Hubbard spoke about how he made a conscious decision while in captivity to stay positive, no matter what hardship was thrown at him. During Wingman Day, Airmen at Selfridge also heard from the Wing’s director of psychological health, the sexual assault response coordinator and the equal opportunity officer about programs and policies in place to foster professional environments in the workplace. The program opened with comments from the 127th Wing commander, Col. Phillip R. Sheridan, who presented several awards to Wing members. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Brittani Baisden / Released)
