Homeless veterans sift through hundreds of donated shoes and boots courtesy of the 18th Annual Homeless Veterans Stand Down held at the Colorado Army National Guard's Denver Armory on Nov. 6, 2008. Homeless veterans from the Denver metro area were bussed in from Saint Francis Day Shelter, Samaritan House, Crossroads Shelter, the Stout Street Clinic and the Denver Veterans Affairs Medical Center to the Denver armory where they received items like new clothes, glasses, shoes, free flu shots, hearing aide repair and a hot meal.
