Republic of Korea Marine Cpl. Kim Sang Min performs a radio check while testing the secured communications controller at the 1st ROK Marine Corps Division Base in Pohang, Republic of Korea March 14 during Marine Expeditionary Force Exercise 2014. The SCC gives the ROK and U.S. Marine Corps the ability to crosslink and communicate with radio systems which were previously incompatible. The focus of MEFEX is the enhance the interoperability between the U.S. Marine air-ground task force and the ROK Marine task force while honing the amphibious capabilities of each nation.
