Soldiers from the 333rd Engineer Company are welcomed home by more than 1,000 family and community members after an 11-month deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, in Reading Pa., March 11. As the community and family members wait to hug necks and welcome home their loved ones, Capt. Michael E. Griffie, commander of the 333rd Engineer Company, holds the unit’s final formation while commending his troops for the success of their mission in Afghanistan. The soldiers of the 333rd Engineer Company were assigned to Regional Command South for conducting horizontal construction contingency operations, while training Afghan National Army soldiers as part of the ongoing effort to draw down U.S. troops in Afghanistan.
