U.S. Army Sgt. John Nolan, former U.S. Army senior specialized-search dog handler previously assigned to the 3rd Military Police Detachment at Fort Eustis, Va., rewards Honza, a 7-year-old SSD, after Honza discovered an improvised explosive device while on patrol in Afghanistan. Nolan said Honza saved his life on more than one occasion while the two were deployed to Afghanistan, and it was only right to try to adopt Honza so they could continue to be partners after he separated from the Army. Nolan is a native of Wilkes-Barre, Pa. (Courtesy photo/Released)
