Dr. Joe Adams of Merit Network, Inc., gives a briefing to Michigan National Guard Adjutant General Maj. Gen. Gregory Vadnais and Latvian Ambassador Andris Razans. Dr. Adams described "cyber range" training that information technician professionals can receive at Merit that will enable them to defeat hackers and other cyber threats. The briefing took place at Ann Arbor, Mich., on March 7, 2014. Michigan and Latvia have been North Atlantic Treaty Organization "Partnership for Peace" members since 1994, conducted training exercises together, and have sent joint training teams to Afghanistan since being partnered.
