Family, friends and fellow Marines applaud newly commissioned U.S. Marine 2nd Lts. Andrew Collison and Samuel Dupaix during their officer commissioning ceremony in Tempe, Ariz., Feb. 20, 2014. Collison, from Prescott, Ariz., and Dupaix, from Phoenix, both graduated from Arizona State University in January. “I was in school, working, doing everything normal. I wanted to serve a higher calling and strive to improve in every aspect of life,” said Dupaix. Collison and Dupaix earned their commission through the Marine Corps Platoon Leaders Class (PLC) program and upon completion of The Basic School (TBS) and flight school are both aspiring to become pilots. “There just came a point where I knew this was my path in life, I knew this was my calling,” said Collison. Young men and women attending any accredited four-year college or university are eligible for PLC. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt. Tyler J Bolken)
