Newly commissioned U.S. Marine 2nd Lt. Samuel Dupaix has his second lieutenant ensigns pinned on by a family member during his officer commissioning ceremony in Tempe, Ariz., Feb. 20, 2014. Dupaix, from Phoenix, graduated from Arizona State University in January with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Dupaix earned his commission through the Marine Corps Platoon Leaders Class (PLC) program and upon completion of The Basic School (TBS) and flight school is aspiring to become a pilot. “Four years of hard work,” said Dupaix. “It feels exhilarating, finally living my dream.” Young men and women attending any accredited four-year college or university are eligible for PLC.
