Lima, Ohio, native 1st Sgt. LeVares Jackson, Headquarters and Headquarters Troop first sergeant with the 3rd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, congratulates newly-promoted Sgt. 1st Class Matthew McAndrew, an unmanned aerial vehicle operator with HHT, 3rd BSTB, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Feb. 13, at the 3rd BSTB headquarters, Fort Benning, Ga. McAndrew, a Gainesville, Fla., native, has been serving in the United States Army for 14 years. He has been in 3rd ABCT since October 2007. Capt. Dezi King, HHT commander, spoke to McAndrew's character during the ceremony, praising him for remaining a deligent, dedicated and resilient noncommissioned officer despite challenges in his life. "This promotion would not have happened without the help and support of all the leaders I have had along the way," McAndrew said.
