Marines with Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, provide security in fighting holes throughout the night after a live-fire exercise at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, Calif., Jan. 26, 2014. The infantrymen immediately began digging fighting holes and developing fire plan sketches following the live-fire exercise to ensure the company’s position was properly defended. First Sgt. Michael Grassl, the company first sergeant, said all of the fighting holes have interlocking sectors of fire to repel attacks from an enemy force. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
