I Corps changes hands

Lt. Gen. Robert B. Brown, former commanding general, I Corps, passes the corps colors to Gen. Vincent Brooks, commanding general, U.S. Army Pacific, during the change of command ceremony on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., Feb. 6. Lt. Gen. Robert B. Brown, relinquished command of I Corps to Lt. Gen. Stephen Lanza, and will now move to his next assignment as commanding general of the U.S. Army Combined Arms Center, at Fort Leavenworth, Kan.

Major Gen. Lanza recently relocated to JBLM and will assume command of the 7th Infantry Division when it is reactivated, Oct. 4. The division will provide oversight for personnel, equipment, training and readiness of three Stryker Brigade Combat Teams, a Combat Aviation Brigade and a Fires Brigade - totaling some 17,000 soldiers, according to the I Corps Public Affairs Office.
