Coast Guard recognizes Amver vessel captain after rescue

Santiago Razon, the captain of the bulk carrier Hedvig Bulker, receives recognition aboard his ship in Beaumont, Texas, Feb. 3, 2014, from Capt. George "Joe" Paitl for responding to and rescuing a trans-Atlantic row team in distress about 1,500 miles off Puerto Rico. The Hedvig Bulker participates in Amver, the Automated Mutual Assitance Vessel Rescue System, and rescued four Royal Air Force members competing in a trans-atlantic rowing competition.
