Those who fell during the brigade’s most recent deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from September 2011-2012 were added to the memorial. The names of Staff Sgt. Robert B.   • Thomasville, Ga., native Capt. Lee Robinson, former commander of Company A, 1st "Attack" Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, speaks at the Veterans Day ceremony at the Veteran's Memorial in Hemet, Calif., Nov. 11. His former Soldier, Chief Warrant Officer Keith Yoakum, a native of Hemet, was posthumously awarded the Distinguished Service Cross; an award second only to the Medal of Honor. Yoakum, along with his copilot, Chief Warrant Officer Jason Defrenn, died in combat, Feb. 2, while serving in Iraq.

Sickler was joined by several of his fellow soldiers from 1-82 Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade. The road has been dedicated in memory of Chief Warrant Officer 4 John R.
