Troy, Ala., native Maj. Christopher Amos, executive officer, 1103rd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, awards the combat action badge to Campbell, Calif., native Spc. Michael Yohannes of the 349th Quartermaster Company, attached to the 82nd Sustainment Brigade-U.S. Central Command Materiel Recovery Element, during a Dec. 20 award ceremony at the Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, retrosort yard. Yohannes and three of his fellow teammates received the badge for a complex attack in which 349th QM Company troops defended a forward operating base and assisted the logistics of injured troops.
