North Carolina National Guard AH-64D Longbow Apache attack helicopters enter the air space over Wallace Wade Stadium on the campus of Duke University in Durham, N.C., in order to rehearse their role in a flyover mission for the 114th annual Army vs. Navy football game, Dec. 14. The aircraft, which belonged to the NCNG’s 1-130th Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, 449th Theater Aviation Brigade, executed a similar flyover in Philadelphia for the Army/Navy pregame festivities. The Army aviators and crews were also recognized by name on the field during the second half for their outstanding skills as pilots and for representing the North Carolina National Guard.
