Brig. Gen. Jon Miller, European Command Joint Assessement Team and Capt. John Moore, commodore, Combined Navy Task Force, and the Georgian minister of defense, David Kezerashvili, particpate in traditional Georgian ceremony marking the arrival of the USS Mount Whitney to Port of Poti, Georgia. At the request of the government of Georgia, the United States is providing humantarian assistance to the people of Georgia. The HA efforts are being coordinated by the U.S. Department of State and USAID with assistance, as required, being provided by the Department of Defense following the conflict between Russian and Georgian forces.
