PORTSMOUTH, Va. - Vice Adm. Robert C. Parker, commander Coast Guard Atlantic Area, and the commanding officers of eight local commands sign an Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve statement of support Thursday, June 7, 2012. The ESGR is a Department of Defense organization established in 1972 whose mission is to promote cooperation and understanding between reservists and their civilian employers, and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee's militarycommitment.
