A Navy beach master directs a landing craft, air cushion as it lands on Red Beach during Exercise Steel Knight 2014 here, Dec. 10, 2013. LCACs are used by the Marine Air Ground Task Force to transport weapons systems, equipment, cargo and personnel from ship to shore and across beaches. Steel Knight is a large-scale, combined arms, live fire exercise integrating the ground combat element from 1st Marine Division with aviation and logistical support from 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing and 1st Marine Logistics Group, enabling I Marine Expeditionary Force to test and refine its command and control capabilities while honing its conventional warfighting skills.
