Boatswain's Mate Seaman Robert Bickell, assigned to the amphibious dock landing ship USS Germantown (LSD 42), detaches a Humvee from crane cables on the pier at White Beach Naval Facility in Okinawa, Japan. The Germantown and USS Ashland (LSD 48) along with embarked Commander, Amphibious Squadron Eleven (CPR11) and Naval Beach Unit Seven (NBU7) are in Okinawa to return the elements of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) embarked onboard the two ships after deploying to The Republic of the Philippines in support of Operation Damayan.
