Many tested their physical strength in front of the Marines' tent at the 2013 Fan Festival for the 40th annual Bayou Classic on Nov. 30, 2013. Those who completed the designated amount of pull-ups received prizes ranging from water bottles to T-shirts. The Marines who attended the festival were able to interact with the local youth and speak with them about the many benefits of military service. For 39 years, the Bayou Classic has showcased the long-standing rivalry between the Southern University Jaguars and the Gambling State University Tigers. The United States Marine Corps has been a partner of the Bayou Classic for 13 consecutive years in celebration of the hard work, courage and commitment to excellence exhibited by its many participants.
