Maj. Gen. Robert Hedelund, the commanding general of 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, visited Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 31, Nov. 21. During his visit, Hedelund spoke to Marines about the need to maintain the operational, technical and physical standards of the Marine Corps. Prior to his departure, Hedelund offered Marines a chance to ask questions about the transition to the F-35 Lightning II. The mission of the MAW is to conduct air operations in support of the Marine Forces to include Offensive Air Support, Antiair Warfare, Assault Support, Aerial Reconnaissance, Electronic Warfare, and Control of Aircraft and Missiles.
