Fort Bliss celebrates Veterans Day

Service members from all U.S. armed forces present the colors at the Veterans Day ceremony held at Fort Bliss, Texas, Nov. 7, 2013. The ceremony, which honored past and present service members, was highlighted by a presentation of the Silver Star award to Sgt. Sean Landers.

Thurgood, Commander of Army and Air Force Exchange Service, shares his remarks and views about the first development of an open air retail marketplace during the Freedom Crossing groundbreaking ceremony held July 17 at Fort Bliss, Texas. It will be a first of its kind in the Department of Defense inside a military installation that will feature local, regional, and nation retail chains, dinning and entertainment venues such as a 10-screen movie theater. It is scheduled to open in the fall of 2010.
