U.S. Army Sgt. Michael Dighton radios to his Soldier while working to coordinate vehicle movement on Forward Operating Base Tagab, Oct. 17, 2013. Dighton joined the Army six years ago, spending all of his career with 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountian Division, Task Force Patriot serving as a forward observer with 4 different battalions in that time. He currently serves as a forward observer and flight operations noncommissioned officer with 2nd Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment, at Tagab and calls Fort Polk, La. his home. Foregoing email, Dighton has sent written letters to his wife Jolene every day while deployed. He also participated in 2012’s Project America Run. During the run, veteran Mike Ehredt ran through Fort Polk on his way from America’s northern border to Texas in remembrance of fallen U.S. soldiers killed in Afghanistan. (U.S. Army Photo by Sgt.
