Firefighter Gregory Sikorsky, a Marine veteran of the Persian Gulf war, is honored along with 340 other firefighters who fell during the attacks on 9/11 during the Tunnel to Towers run in Manhattan Sept. 29. Tunnel to Towers, a 5-kilometer run, is held annually in honor of firefighter Stephen Siller. Siller, who ran to the World Trade Center through the Battery Tunnel with all his gear on during the attacks on 9/11, ultimately lost his life during his attempt to save others.
