In addition to working with their Afghan counterparts to improve operations, logistics and communications, the 104th helped start two 12-room schools and a deep well, distributed donated school supplies to villages along the borders of Iran and Turkmenistan, and delivered 175 desks to a school that had no furniture. The 104th SFAAT commander Lt. Col. David Larson will remain with a handful of soldiers at Camp Shelby who still need to complete demobilization requirements.
