Republic of the Philippines Marine Corps Pfc. Maria J. Mateo prepares to insert a needle into the arm of U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Walter Pereira during a tactical combat casualty care course Sept. 18 at Crow Valley Range Complex, Camp O’Donnell, Capas, Tarlac, Republic of the Philippines during the Amphibious Landing Exercise 2014. Bilateral Philippine-U.S. Marine Corps training sustains and reinforces the foundation and framework for a bilateral force to respond rapidly and effectively to regional humanitarian crises. Mateo is a corpsman and Pereira is a scout sniper with Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit.
