An F/A-18 Hornet conducts field arrestment training at Clark Air Field, Pampanga, Republic of the Philippines, Sept. 25 as part of Amphibious Landing Exercise 2014. The training utilized a Marine Corps arresting gear system, which acts as an anchor and liquid break for the landing aircraft. The recurrence of PHIBLEX, now in its 30th year, demonstrates the commitment of the U.S. and Republic of the Philippines to mutual security and their long-time partnership. The F/A-18 Hornet is with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 232, currently attached to Marine Aircraft Group 12, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force, as part of the Marine Corps’ unit deployment program.
