A student from the Class 13-01 of the Fort Bragg Air Assault School prepares to connect a slingload, Sept. 26. Bracing against the rotor wash, the students are able to put their new-found skills to use after training for the past few days on the intricacies of connecting loads weighing as much as 9,000 pounds to an aircraft hovering just above their heads. The new school, which started this month, offers another way to distinguish and enhance leadership skills for Fort Bragg soldiers above and beyond the traditional airborne skill set the base in known for.
