Burundi National Defense Force soldiers prepare to test their marksmanship during an exercise with U.S. Marines and sailors from Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Africa 13 in Mudubugu, Burundi, Aug. 22, 2013. Marines and sailors are conducting the exercise, which began in July and ends Sept. 27, with Burundian soldiers to improve skills in medical care, infantry, basic weapons training, marksmanship, unexploded ordnance recognition, land navigation and patrolling. The exercise is designed to prepare the Burundian soldiers for assignments in Somalia and supports U.S. Africa Command and Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa's missions to strengthen partner nation militaries.
