An Army veteran's cover is adorned with awards and devices representing his military service during World War II at the 165th Airlift Wing, Georgia Air National Guard installation in Pooler, Ga. prior to departing for Washington D.C., Sept. 6. The trip is organized through Honor Flight Savannah, which stride to send all South Carolina and Georgia World War II and Korean War veterans to Washington D.C. to visit the war memorials that were dedicated to their service and sacrifice to the country. Over 50 Marines and sailors particpated in the event to show their respect to the men and women who served in the Armed Forces more than half a century ago.
