Japanese Sgt. Youhei Kaminota, a sniper with the 16th Regimental Combat Team, 4th Division, Japan Ground Self Defense Force, positions himself behind an M24 Sniper Weapon System to familiarize himself before firing during Rising Thunder at the Yakima Training Center, Wash., Sept. 5, 2013. During the training, U.S. and Japanese snipers exchanged knowledge on how they conducted sniper operations and focused on target detection, reconnaissance techniques, and cover and concealment.
