JB Charleston welcomes new commander

Col. Richard McComb, outgoing Joint Base Charleston commander, and his wife, Phylis, exit Nose Dock 2 after the JB Charleston change of command ceremony Aug. 29, 2013, at JB Charleston - Air Base. Col. Jeffrey DeVore previously the commander of the 386th Expeditionary Operations Group, Southwest Asia, officially assumed command from McComb during the change of command ceremony. McComb will be assuming the duties at the Pentagon. As the JB Charleston commander, McComb provided installation support to a total force of more than 86,000 airmen, sailors, soldiers, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, civilians, dependents and retirees across both the Air Base and Weapons Station.
