U.S. Army Sgt. Ian Pocklington of Winthrop Harbor, Ill., assigned to 18th Engineer Brigade prepares a counseling statement during the Counseling Lane of U.S. Army Europe's Best Warrior Competition at Grafenwoehr Training Area, Germany, Aug. 19, 2013. The competition is a weeklong event that tests soldiers' physical stamina, leadership and technical knowledge and skill. The competitors represent the best in their units and exemplify the USAREUR imperatives of teamwork, comprehensive fitness, leader development, training, discipline and standards.
