The Bayou Classic was founded in 1936 and is a game between Southern
University and Grambling State University. The United States Marine Corps has been a partner of the Bayou Classic for 13 consecutive years. This partnership provides the United States Marine Corps with an opportunity to celebrate the hard work, courage and commitment to excellence exhibited by its many participants.
